Meet Christina + Pial! These two traveled from out of town for their engagement session so when the forecast said nothing but torrential downpours and a monsoon of epic proportions (or something like that) we decided to rise to the occasion and do this thing anyway. I am SO happy we did because this rainy day engagement was SO much fun and Christina and Pial are the best kind of company when hanging out in the rain.
Christina + Pial met in medical school. It wasn’t entirely clear to Christina at first that Pial was interested but his continued patience and persistence paid off. They spent their first date eating chicken and biscuits and ice skating. Pial described it as “magical”.
After a romantic getaway in Spain that led to their engagement and 5 years of being together, these two are finally tying the knot in Greene, NY at Gabriella’s Manor. (Just north of Binghamton!) I can’t wait to capture their special day.
Christina has the BEST laugh. It became apparent that these two have that kind of lightning chemistry where I really don’t need to do anything but be on the ready with my camera. These two crack each other up and it is the sweetest thing to witness.
The rain let up long enough for a few pictures without an umbrella. These are some of my most favorite shots from their engagement session. The lighting was just perfect and the air had that misty feel that just lights the photos right up.
I couldn’t choose between the ring shots so I chose both. The second one was awesome to create. Christina is super adventurous and jumped right in the water with me to assist in getting this shot. I’ve always loved water lilies so incorporating them into an engagement shoot gave my heart all the flutters, even while my rubber boots were filling up with water. I guess it’s time for a new pair!
I love the fact that these two are doctors yet they have such silly personalities. They’re also bright rays of sunshine and super passionate at what they do. We spent a lot of time just chatting in the rain about the medical field and it makes me feel so reassured to know these two are out there changing lives for the better.
It’s a family tradition to collect pins for their fancy travel hat. I’m not sure if they take the actual hat with them traveling or not but I’d like to picture this thing going everywhere. That’s actually a super great idea for an instagram page. “The Traveling Hat”. Somebody jump on that!
I have spent YEARS looking for 4 leaf clovers. Years. Hours of time spent in the grass trying to find one. While on our way back to our vehicles, Christina scooped this up while spotting it on the go. I was so impressed and I still am! I guess you’re either the kind of person who finds 4 leaf clovers or you’re not. *big sigh* I won’t give up hope. What a good sign from the universe though! I don’t think our day could have ended on a better note.Christina + Pial are getting married on August 10th. I’m so excited to spend this day with them! Make sure you stay tuned for their wedding day blog!
