Lindsay + Sammy – Terra Cotta Wedding in Owego, NY

Ooooo guys! I am so excited to share this blog with you! I’ve always loved blogging my weddings but since covid has basically wiped out the majority of weddings this year, I am EXTRA pumped when I have a wedding to share. (To put things better in perspective, I normally have a wedding every weekend from June to the end of October. This year I have FIVE weddings. I know. WOOF.)

Lindsay + Sammy first met at Rossi’s Pizza when they were only 15 and 17. They were friends for years and finally started dating when they were 22 and 25. 11 years later they’re tying the knot. This gorgeous dress is from Ever After Binghamton Bridal. AND GUESS WHAT! It has pockets. Lindsay’s dear friend is an excellent seamstress so she took Lindsay’s mother’s wedding veil and refinished it for Lindsay to wear on her wedding day. Scroll for pictures of that sweet exchange.Look at this face. If you have pets in your house while I’m there photographing, I will 100% take their picture and love on them SO much. This little sweet heart watched me do all of my detail shots.
Lindsay’s friend also made custom masks for the entire bridal party. She even stitched Mrs. and Mr. on the bride and grooms mask. I love the lace with the polka dots.Bride tribe! A “very kind” neighbor yelled something else out their door while we were doing pictures which I’ll intentionally leave out of this blog but it became the running joke for the rest of the day. This group of stunners were so much fun to work with! Lindsay’s reception shoes. Sammy thought these were really cool too. I learn something new at every wedding. On this particular day I learned that if you blow on your thumbnail it supposedly keeps you from crying. Lindsay did her best but some of these sentimental moments were just too much. First look with Dad in the backyard! I love that the dog accompanied her out.Lindsay and Sammy chose to do a first look as well.
The Owego Treadway (which is now run by and catered by the Terra Cotta) sits right on the river. It’s truly a pretty spot for wedding portraits, especially right next to the river with all the giant trees. If you’ve been following me for a while you know I like to make my brides spin. When I asked Lindsay what her favorite thing about Sammy was she said “his sense of humor and positivity”. I love that this picture captures that. Sammy’s favorite thing about Lindsay is her strength. I looooove these blooms. You can’t go wrong with batman socks on your wedding day!The ceremony took place in the gazebo outside of the Owego Treadway. I love how it was decorated for their ceremony. Tears all around! Is it terrible that I love when everybody cries? First kiss as husband and wife! After the ceremony Lindsay and Sammy wanted to sneak off to have a moment with themselves. I think this is a super special idea and will definitely be encouraging future brides and grooms to do this. Sometimes you just need a moment to breathe and take it all in after one of the most important moments of your life, ya know?Lindsay is sooooo gorgeous.I adored Lindsay from the moment I met her and Sammy for their engagement session. Lindsay is not only stunning but she is definitely a woman who stands on her own two feet and she’s not afraid to tell you what she’s thinking. I think I admire that most about her. Also she has impeccable taste because, again, a wedding dress with POCKETS and I love the saucy shades. I had to include this photo. Sibling portraits are THE best. It’s not a covid wedding unless there’s a picture of everyone with their masks on. The dining area was decorated perfectly. I loved how the same flowers from Lindsay’s bouquet were incorporated on every table.Always my favorite space in the reception area…..YUM.These were incredible. Jaretts Stuffed Cupcakes in Endicott NY does an amazing job. First dance as husband and wife…The Terra Cotta did a wonderful job at keeping everyone safe during this wedding and more imporantly, THE FOOD YOU GUYS. So good. There was this pizza thing with some weird cheese and fish and it was SO good that I ate it with my eyes closed. I’ll need to ask Lindsay what, exactly, it was called because I’m obsessed. I’m literally salivating just talking about it. Lindsay and Sammy’s wedding was amazing and I’m so happy that I could be a part of it.

Lindsay and Sammy – I absolutely ADORE you guys! Keep in touch! Xo!
